Houseplant are, generally speaking, any plant that has been adapted to grow indoors. Most of the common houseplants are exotic plants native to warm, frost-free parts of the world which can be grown indoors in colder climates, most typically something derived from tropical regions. They are also referred to as potted plants or indoor plants, which find their home in portable containers.
