Roses are the favorite flower of many gardeners for great reasons. They bloom prolifically during the growing season and offer a massive variety of color and abound with delightful aromas. They are wonderful in Utah for the fact that they love dry heat and do very well in our high desert conditions. The contrast of their soft petals held up by thorny stems put them in a rather poetic state of representing how many feel about love (or so we read in hundreds of rose related articles). Their leaves tend to be a glossy green juxtaposed against every kind of color from pastel pinks to deep mahogany.
