Shrubs (also known as bushes) are a small-to-medium-sized perennial woody plant. What this means is, shrubs have persistent woody stems that remain above ground, even if the plant has dropped its leaves and is dormant for winter. Shrubs can be either deciduous or evergreen and are distinguished from trees by their multiple stems and shorter height.
